Production Assistant with Editing Skills (Part-Time)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Production Assistant to support our dynamic studio team. This role is perfect for an aspiring video professional who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced production environment. You will be responsible for assisting with the setup and execution of video shoots while also handling essential post-production tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow your skills in both production and video editing.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support: Assist the production team with setting up cameras, lighting, and audio equipment for studio shoots.
- Media Management: Organize, label, and transfer raw footage and other media assets from cameras to our storage systems.
- Editing Assistance: Perform initial edits, including trimming clips, syncing audio, and creating rough cuts of long-form content (lectures, podcasts).
- Content Preparation: Prepare video projects for senior editors by organizing sequences and pulling select clips.
- Short-Form Content Creation: Assist in editing short clips and creating engaging content for social media platforms like TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Studio Maintenance: Help maintain a clean and organized studio space, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and cared for.
- General Assistance: Provide general support to the Studio Production Manager and other team members on various tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- A strong interest in video production and a desire to learn.
- Basic experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve).[3]
- Familiarity with the basic principles of camera operation, lighting, and sound is a plus.[1]
- Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- A proactive and collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to take direction and work independently on assigned tasks.
- A portfolio or reel showcasing any previous video or editing work is highly encouraged.
