Role Overview
The Fund Development Director will lead AlMaghrib’s donor engagement and partnership efforts across the United States. The ideal candidate is a strategic relationship-builder who thrives in values-based work and is driven to mobilize support for long-term Islamic education. This individual will manage a portfolio of major donors, coordinate high-impact events, and drive alumni giving initiatives in close collaboration with scholars and instructors.
The goal is to secure donations and endowment contributions through personalized engagement, values-driven storytelling, and a deep commitment to AlMaghrib’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Major Donor & Strategic Partner Engagement
- Identify, cultivate, and manage a portfolio of high-value donors across
- Build personal relationships across all tiers with customized stewardship
- Host private donor briefings, scholar-led events, and fundraising
- Present tailored giving opportunities including WAQF, projects, and student
Event-Based Fundraising & Representation
- Represent AlMaghrib at national events, seminars, and donor
- Coordinate logistics and fundraising activations at major
- Support scholars and instructors in preparing live pitches and follow-up
Alumni & Community Activation
- Lead alumni engagement campaigns via WhatsApp, email, and reunion-style
- Partner with instructors to build cohort-based challenges and giving
- Convert alumni into recurring donors for the WAQF and sponsorship
Stewardship, Reporting & CRM
- Track donor interactions in the CRM (Kindful or Salesforce) with meticulous
- Send regular impact updates, milestone recognitions, and personal thank-you
- Provide monthly pipeline and engagement reports to the
- Collaborate on grant reporting and impact
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 3–5 years of experience in major gifts, donor relations, or nonprofit
- Strong knowledge of the USA Muslim community and nonprofit
- Proven success managing donor portfolios and closing 5-figure
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and public speaking
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote
- Tech-savvy with CRM, digital communications, and donor management
- Willingness to travel (10–20%) for events and donor
- Deep passion for Islamic education
