Taught By Shaykh Yasir Qadhi (8h 32m)
Pillars Of Faith
Belief in The Angels
Yasmin Mogahed begins this course with an introduction to the meaning of tazkiyyah, purification of the self. She goes into the meaning of Surat Al-Shams to emphasize the importance of tazkiyyah, and why spirituality is an essential part of our religion.
Belief in the angels also incorporates the belief in other forms of the unseen, like the jinn and shayateen. What descriptions do we have about the angels and how are they different from humans? What actions could we do to have the angels praise us?
Belief in the Jinn is not exactly a pillar of Iman, so why is it mentioned in this Aqeedah class? Learn and understand the descriptions of Jinn and their abilities. It’s commonly misunderstood that all Jinns are bad, but there are also righteous and God-fearing Jinn.
Allah SWT communicates with us by sending books to our prophets in order to guide us. Shaykh Yasir answers the common question about the difference between a Nabi (prophet) and a Rasul (messenger). How many prophets do we know of and who are the greatest among them?
Why were prophets and messengers sent to us? Do they ever contradict each other? Understand the purpose of these prophets and how they were alike and different in this lesson.
All prophets share certain characteristics – what are they? What characteristics makes a prophet? Sh. Yasir talks about the concept of wahi and what makes a prophet, a prophet.
