Qabeelat Hosna - Houston, Texas
Qabeelat Hosna is unique in the way that its volunteers try their utmost to
ensure that each student that signs up for a seminar walks out of the door
each day with a satisfaction in their heart for choosing to attend the
particular class, and with an ever increasing thirst for more knowledge of
their Deen. We look for the delivery of our efforts not in our numbers
alone, but on the faces of each attendee, in their eagerness to come to
class every morning, and in their sorrow that the double weekend seminar
ended so soon. After all, Hosna is *the best*, and we will settle for
nothing less.

1) How long has Hosna been a Qabeelah?
I think our first seminar was near the end of 2003 or early 2004, so we've been around for about 3.5 years, wa Allahu a'lam. Time flies when you're having fun!
2) Where is Hosna based?
Hosna is based in the blessings of Allah and then the dedication of its students and its hardworking crew, al-hamdu lillah. Yeah, that's not the answer you were looking for. Okay, we're based in Houston, Tx.
3) How many students do you have?
Every seminar varies, but we've maxed at around 300 students in one seminar. We're aiming to beat that record soon, in sha Allah.
4) In such a big State like Texas with so many Muslims, ma sha Allaah, how is it that there is only one Qabeelah? Are there any other Qabeelahs or Banus in the making?
Hosna is known for it's Hosnatality. Students come from all corners of Texas (and beyond) to attend seminars in Houston and enjoy our southern hospitality, al-hamdu lillah. Dallas used to have seminars too, but I reckon Texas ain't big enough for the both of us.
5) What makes Hosna special?
* We are the Home of the First Liwaa'
* We have a Crew with amazing potential, ma sha Allah.
* We are one of the original 4 Qabeelahs in AlMaghrib history.
* We were the first Qabeelah to divide our tribe into clans (aka banus).
* We were the first to have Reloaded Competitions on the forums.
* We have halal beef jerky at our seminars.

6) What are your current community service initiatives or past successes?
Currently we're working hand-in-hand with a local charity organization Al-Amaanah in order to help Muslim refugees that have come to Houston from all over the globe. In the past we've organized projects such as Eid Meat distribution and Code 4 ( http://hosna.almaghrib.org/code4).

Testimony:
"Hosna has, to me, been a medium, which the light of knowledge has shined
through, and Alhumdulillah I have had the oppurtunity to bask in that
light. JazaakAllah Khairun to the brothers and sisters of Hosna and to
AlMaghrib for facilitating for us this Beacon of Light."
