Exams - Frequently Asked Questions
  • I am a student who traveled to another city for the class, how do I take my exam?

    • All out of town requests are to be forwarded to the AlMaghrib Exams Administrator.  Out of town students are responsible for completing the Online Exam Request form at www.almaghrib.org/exam.php before the scheduled exam for the class. Travelling students will have their examinations scheduled at the same date as the local Qabeelah examination.  Further details will be communicated to students upon approval of their request

  • I am an out of town student and I cannot take the exam on the same day as the local students?

    • Should you be unavailable to take the exam the same day as local students are to request a deferral at www.almaghrib.org/exam.php. please ensure that you check off the box indicating you are a student who traveled outside your city for this seminar, in order for adequate procedure to take place.. Such requests are approved on a case by case basis.  Documentation may also be required before a deferred examination can be approved.

  •  I did not receive my exam grade, how do I ask for it?

    • All students with missing grades from past exams should complete the Grade Request Form on the AlMaghrib Exam website, www.almaghrib.org/exam.php.

  • Who do I contact if I need to defer my exam?

    • Deferred exam requests are to be forwarded to the AlMaghrib Exam Administrator through completion of the Exam Deferral form.  Please allow 3-6 business days for deferral requests to be processed.  The AlMaghrib Institute reserves the right to request supporting documentation from students requesting a deferral.

  • Where can I obtain information regarding my exam?

    • AlMaghrib students are responsible for acquiring information regarding the time, date and location of their examination.  While this information may be provided on the AlMaghrib forums, Qabeelah Mailing Lists and Class Announcements, the most up-to-date and accurate information can be accessed on the Exam Website at www.almaghrib.org/exam.php.

  • How long do I have to take my exam if it is deferred?

    • Students who have been granted a deferral, after their request form has been processed and approved, will be administered their examination on a separate deferral date within ten days determined by the Head Exam Coordinator for their Qabeelah.  Exceptions may apply on a case by case situation.

  • What if I missed the exam without contacting my exam coordinator?

    • It is the responsibility of each student to contact their Qabeelah Exam Coordinator prior to the examination date.  Failure to do this will usually result in a denied deferral request.  Only in clearly unforeseeable circumstances will deferred examinations be approved after the local Qabeelah examination has been written.

  • I had an emergency and I missed the exam?

    • The AlMaghrib Institute recognizes that, at times, emergencies do occur and may at times cause a student to miss the scheduled examination.  Students in such circumstances should complete the Exam Deferral form.  Please be advised that AlMaghrib may request supporting documentation before requests can be approved.

  • "I cannot make the deferral"

    • Deferral dates are firmly fixed.  Should deferred examination times conflict with a major event such as illness, family emergencies, marriage etc, a new date may be granted.  Please fill out a deferral request at www.almaghrib.org/exam.php.
