AlMaghrib's Social Service Initiative!

We are encouraged to accept a role in the society to improve or help the communities in which we live in. The Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad's (sallahu alaiyhi wa salaam) teachings and actions should be able to motivate us Muslims to give for enhancing humanity's welfare!

So Alhamduillah, AlMaghrib has started a a new Social Service Program in which you all will play an important role!! The goal is to get each Qabeelah leading a community service project in their communities two to three times a year.

Second, the first round of the community service project is right around the corner. We are dedicating the months of August and September towards helping the less fortunate. Every Qabeelah has to do an act of "good work".

Examples include feeding the homeless, working at local soup kitchens, visiting homes for the elderly, visiting orphanages, volunteering at a homeless shelter, etc

(Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allah's cause, are restricted (from travel) and cannot move about in the land, seeking (for trade or work): the ignorant man thinks because of their modesty that they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (unfailing) mark: they beg not importunately from all and sundry. And whatever of good ye give, be assured Allah knoweth it well. (Surah Al-Baqarah, 273)
